Finger Paints - Flakies

Hello all and Merry Christmas. I hope you all enjoy your holiday! I am going to be in and out, so figured I would make a post now. I literally JUST painted my nails. I was out shopping the other day and found the finger paints flakies. I have the whole set of 5.

From left to right we have: Asylum, Flashy,  Flecked, Motley, & Twisted. Aren't they gorgeous??

Anyway, I wanted to use them. I was supposed to wait until Christmas, instead I didn't and used it tonight! HAHA. Anyway, I did one coat of Seche Vite Rebuild as my base coat. Then I took one coat of Zoya's Anja, she is such a beautiful color that I only needed one coat to get the look I wanted. It's like a very dark purple. I then added one coat of Finger Paints - Twisted. (The last one photoed above). Then I topped it with probably my FAVORITE top coat, Seche Vite. And I just LOVE how they turned out. :-) I've never used a "flakie" before, and these are my first ones in my polish collection.

Excuse my dry cuticles and my nubby nails. They were all breaking so I filed them down to their breaks in hopes to start over :-) The above picture is with no flash.
This was taken with a flash.
Flash with my Zoya - Anja polish :-)

I hope you all have a VERY Merry Christmas and enjoy your family and friends!

Christmas nails - Round 3

Today I re-painted my nails because I wanted to do a holiday themed manicure. I used Zoya's - Sarah as my base color. Sarah, is probably one of my favorite colors from my little Zoya collection. I just love her, I basically just love all of Zoya, everything I've tried. I've never been let down. Sarah is a beautiful red, more of a darker red with a shimmer.

I used Nail Life as my base coat for strengthening. I then used two coats of Zoya, I probably could have got away with one coat but I wanted it a richer look. I then used Kiss Silver Nail art to do my design. I used Sally Hansen XTreme Wear - Mellow Yellow for the star on top of my tree. On my middle finger where I painted the tree I used Confetti's - Ice Ice Baby to give it a little more sparkle. Then I topped it off with Seche Vite's top coat.
I did some nail art "swish's" on my thumbs and pinkies just to add more design but not too much. :-)

What do you think of my third Christmas Mani?

Zoya - Charla 12-19-11

Okay so today I am going to do two posts because I painted my nails twice :-) I painted them yesterday (forgot to post) and re-did them today because I was bored :-) So this first post, is with one of the polish's that I got in one of Zoya's many many flash promos. I used Charla, and I absolutely LOVE her. She is beautiful. I'm still new with my camera and still messing around with lighting and the settings. However, these pictures do NOT do Charla justice at all. To me in my opinion it actually comes out as a darker blue in these photos, and to me it's really more of a greenish blue when applied. It's BEAUTIFUL! I love!

I used Nail Life as a base coat for strengthening. Then I used two coats of Charla. I might have been able to even do one more coat. But I was happy and just loved the two coats. Then I topped her off with Seche Vite top coat :-)

Tried to get a different "view" to get the "true" color, but it didn't work. No flash was used here

What do you all think of her? Isn't she gorgeous?

Candy Cane Water Marble

I have a family Christmas party today (Saturday) and tomorrow (Sunday) so I wanted to do a different manicure. This is my second try at water marbling; my first attempt was back in October for Halloween. I absolutely LOVE water marbling. I hope with time I will keep improving my water marbling skills :-)

I started off with a two coats of China Glaze *White on White*, then I used it again with China Glaze *Hey Sailor* rotating white, red, white, red, white, red, white.

This is my right hand, every nail came out different. :-) My thumb nail broke all the way down about a week ago, so ignore the sad sad nail :-) Normally, I wouldn't take pictures of all 5 fingers, but I wanted to for this so you can see all the designs it made :-)
This is my left hand, again middle finger and pointer broke, and aren't long enough for me to "Square"

Isn't water marble fun???

Nail Life???

Hello everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in a couple of days. I've been super busy, we are having company in from out of state; they are coming in tomorrow for the weekend. I will probably be fairly busy up until after Christmas, so bare with me. :-)

Anyway, I went to Sally's today originally looking for something to make my nails stronger. I saw a post from a fellow blogger about something by Orly called "Nail Rescue". You can see her review HERE Anyway, I wasn't really going for that in particular, however, was looking for a strengthening base coat as 3 of my nails have broken in the last day and the corners are actually off. I was going to buy the "Nail Rescue" as well if they had it. Well, lucky me, ended up with two new polish's today. I just can't get enough of polish :-) I got Orly *Green With Envy* and Orly *Velvet Rope*. In turn, my Sally's had a sale if you bought two Orly polish's you could get a FREE Orly nail treatment. So lucky me, I was able to get "Nail Rescue" for free :-) I love free stuff! I also bought a new top coat, that I've heard a lot of people talk about called "Seche Vite" and also bought something called "Nail Life" You use it as a base coat and top coat, and use it daily. In a nut shell it is for brittle nails, such as mine.

Here is my nail haul from today! Anyone heard of Nail Life? Anyone used it? Opinions? Sally's says it is their 2nd from top nail strengthener. I would have bought their #1 but they were of course sold out.

Anyway, I got home and of course wanted to try out my new polish :-) I used one base coat of "Nail Life", and used two coats of Orly *Velvet Rope*. Then I topped it off with Seche Vite. I absolutely LOVE this color. It applies great and to me it's just plain beautiful! I took pictures, but they do NOT do it justice. It is 1:00am here, and again, lighting is not great in my house.

My first Christmas Mani

So I wanted to try a holiday manicure however, I wanted to use one of my new Zoya polish's. I love Zoya! So I used Zoya "Ginessa" as my base coat then I stamped with China Glaze "Hey Sailor". I also used Sally Hansen "Purple Potion" for the present on the sleigh. However, it didn't come out so dark. Tell me what you think :-) Sorry for the picture quality, poor lighting in the house :-/

I used two coats of Zoya - Ginessa

She's pretty, I could have probably used another coat.

And here is the finished product. Please forgive the ugly and dry cuticles.... tis the season for my dry hands. Normally I will file, buff, shine, and use cuticle oil, this time I skipped over all of that haha!!

Traci from The TraceFace Philes is having an awesome giveaway! Stop by her blog and check her out!

Zoya - Apple

Good morning every one! I re-did my nails this morning while my little one was still sleeping since I couldn't sleep. I was part of Zoyas buy 2 get 2 promo and one of the polish's I got was Apple. OMG is she ever pretty! First, let me start off by saying that I absolutely LOVE Zoya. I'd have to say it is probably one of my most FAVORITE brands of polish's. However, I do not have many different, out of the one's I do have, Zoya is probably my favorite. I love how it applies and really everything about it :-) So here are some pictures for you all. I'm still trying to find a good lighting, area, and setting to take my nail pictures on, so please bare with me.

I used a base coat, two coats of Zoya's Apple, and one top coat. Do you see how my nails have like the hour glass look? Especially the middle and ring fingers? Does anyone know why? I don't like it!

Again, you can see how my nails are like "pinched" in at the nail bed then they go back out again. I don't like it :-/

If you have any input or advice please feel free to let me know! Thank you for reading!

Holiday Inspired - Snowflakes!

I wanted to do something holiday inspired because I was bored with the same ol' same ol' plain polish's. I do have stamping supplies, they just don't always like me, I still have learning to do with them. So I wanted to "try" some snow flakes on my nails. I did it free hand so they are not "perfect" but what snowflakes are? I don't know of any snow flake that is :-) I am rather happy with the way they turned out.

Here is the finished product :-)
I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Marine Scene, and I used a silver glitter nail art brush to make the flakes.
Thank you for reading today; I hope you enjoyed it! I should hopefully be getting 4 more Zoyas to add to my collection today, they were in Michigan yesterday around 2pm so hopefully they will be in my area of Michigan and in my mail box today :-)

China Glaze - Luna

Sorry I did not post yesterday, I had it up and started this post, then got side tracked and forgot to finish it. Bare with me, I'm still new to this, I need to work this in to my daily routine. Anyway, China Glaze is one of my favorite brands of polish. So today I am going to blog about Luna. Luna is a beautiful blue-ish/silvery sparkle color. It is more of a sheer color so it took me three coats to get the opaque look, I probably could have done a fourth coat. However, we do not have good lighting in our house and my littlest one was in rare form, so I just wanted to hurry up and be done. I really love the color though and will definitely be using it again soon!

Sorry about the glare from the flash. Again, we have poor lighting and when I get to paint my nails, it is usually at night, so it's dark out, and usually not the brightest in the house.

I used one base coat, three coats of China Glaze - Luna, and a top coat.

Happy Holo-days!

Okay so here is my first post/review. Again, I am new at this so not so sure I know what I am doing just yet. So bare with me please.

First, I will explain, I am part of a couple nail groups on Facebook and we did a Secret Santa gift exchange. I think I was pretty easy to shop for considering I do not have a really large stash. So, I received my gift of four different polish's yesterday in the mail and immediately wanted to repaint my nails. I got my first ever Holo, so I was pretty excited and wanted to try it. The brand, I am assuming is "Golden Rose". I say assume because I have never heard of or seen this polish before. Let me just say I absolutely LOVE Holos! So exciting! I will definitely be looking out on other blogs to try different colors. I think it is fun! So here are some pictures!

I used a base coat, then I put on three coats of the Golden Rose Holographic Color, and finally topped it off with China Glaze fast dry top coat.

I really do love how it turned out, and was pretty excited to try my first holo. I plan to purchase more in the near future :-)

Thank you all for stopping by and reading! Be sure to keep an eye open for more posts with the other polish's I received from my Secret Santa. :-) I hope you enjoyed my first post! Again, I will take any input/criticism you may have! How do you think I did?

First Post

First, let me start off with, I am not very good a blogging. No matter how hard I have ever tried, I was never able to keep up with it. So my good friend, Jamie, you can find her blog HERE, told me I should start a nail blog, since I am a recent addict of nail polish. I guess there are different and worse things to be addicted to right? Allow me to give you a little background on myself; I am a wife and a mother of two, I work full time, I sell Scentsy Wick-less candles on the side to make a little extra money, and I take online college courses. I recently graduated and received my Associate of Arts in Health Care Administration/Health Care Records. I will be starting back up in March 2012 to go for my Bachelors of Science in Health Care Administration/Health Care Management.

Anyway, enough about all of that and on to NAILS! I have been a nail biter since I was a wee one and recently as of the beginning of September 2011 stopped biting my nails. Now they are nice and long; well long in my eyes anyway. I am sure there is some work that could be done to them. If you see anything when I post pictures or post in general that needs work, please feel free to critique me and give me some input. It is getting late here, and will hopefully do my first nail post! Please share my blog with your friends, and please feel free to give me any input you may have! Thanks for reading!!
